My week so far...

How my week has been so far:
1) My oldest has almost burnt down the house using socks and a floor lamp in his room.
2) My oldest breaks lamp that he almost burnt house down with so now my sons have no light in their bedroom, plus the socks he used are all melted and he no longer has a matching pair of socks. He did this right before he was being picked up by Sperm-donor so i had to run around like a mad woman trying to find socks for him to wear.
3) Husband goes to pay the ticket he got for expired tabs on our car (i know its bad)  and come to find out its costing us a LOT more then we imagined.
4) The cost of car breaking down on me a few weeks ago is now hitting us hard and eating into our food and Xmas money.
5) Realized our cell phone bill is due tomorrow and we forgot to budget for that.
6) Realized I gave out only my cell number to employers when applying for jobs (so they wont be able to call me ((way to go me)))
7) Experiencing hot flashes every time I lay down for bed and then cant sleep.
8) Living on Ramen and potatoes is starting to make me nauseous.

Not happy this week :/ Its been very hard trying not to bash my head against any hard surface to smother the stress, but I behave, for the kids. Hubby is really...annoying i guess you could say with the pep talks about "we are gonna be fine" and "don't stress" or how about the "I have got it figured out" line. I hate that with a passion. Cause in my head I'm going "PLEASE do tell me how you got this all figured out so that I can calm down and not wander around the house planning on what to sell when we finally run out of food and I can have a solid idea of WHAT THE HELL YOUR THINKING" I hear a lot of men say this and I am not amused nor comforted by this line so I know for a fact that it wont work on any other woman. BUT on the other hand, he has been pretty helpful since he went on lay off and is home every day. The plus is i get to sleep in a little later then I have been for the past few years :) .... lately i have really needed it though with all the stress it takes me FOREVER to go to bed at night :/ but N-E-WHO I am noticing it is 1:23am and I should really go lay in bed and stare at the ceiling a bit more and attempt to do that sleep thing all normal humans do. Hope all your weeks were better then mine. NIGHT!

Russell Brand and My Hubby

This is my hubby ^_^
I have come to the conclusion that my hubby looks a lot like Russell Brand.

This guy.
Take away the British accent, comedic talent, and cut his hair and you would have my hubby.
SO... what have i decided to do with my new findings? Well since my husband would prefer that i keep my hair long I have decided that he must grow his out.
Fair enough I think ^_^
I mean does he or does he not look just like him?

Experimenting in creating Kid Kits. Little felts kits that kids can mix and match peices to show off their creativeness and also portable so they can have a cool toy to go.

I know my son always wants to help me sew. So he really loved his gingerbread man creative kit while i was creating more clothes and accessories for it lolz.
There he is ^_^ This worked really well with keeping him occupied so i could sew. By far the most peaceful sewing experience in a long time lol Love my little guy and he loved his new accessories and clothes for his gingerbread ^_^

Creative-Mojo

After my last post about the things I have made so far, I have what I call a "creative-mojo" that has crept up on me. No idea what I am going to work on yet but we shall see soon.

Things I Have Made ^_^

Let me first explain that
1. I am still new to sewing. I purchased my 1st
sewing machine over the summer at a garage sale,
and as always I do not follow the directions for
that either so learning my machine has been a challenge as well.

2. I do NOT use patterns, I personally hate using them and
find them more confusing then designing things myself.

and

3. Most of the time I have no idea what I am doing until I am doing it.

These little birds were VERY easy and I made both within 10mins. Originaly I had planned for both of them to be owls.....not sure what happened to the blue and yellow one lol. We have decided he is now a penguin. My boys and also dog LOVE these little guys <3
I call him Number 6. He was my sixth project this summer and I failed at my original plan for him. He was SUPPOSED to be a LOT smaller and he lost a leg shortly after his completion... poor guy.
This is a "Tree-house" indoor tent. Was a pain in the butt to make and since I tried to hide the fact that I was making this, from my now 4yr old son, it took me two weeks to complete. If you try to do something like this, my advice is don't even try to hide this from a kid UNLESS you have a sewing room and your child actually respects your stuff and stays out of it. Brian is a curious child and always finds himself in my sewing stuff.
I decided to over do things with the tent as I ALWAYS do and made a personalized blanket, fuzzy rug, and a pillow that all matched my son's new tent. All though he loved everything none of it stayed with the tent.

Now before we move to the next picture, I just want to say that this was a very bad idea on my part. Brian decided for his 4th birthday party he wanted a Monster Party! Exciting I know and first thing that goes through my mind is...I can make cool party favors for everyone to take home instead of tons of sweets. Of course I deliberated with my mom for more ideas. I had two months till the date of the party. Then Brian decided he wanted to dress like a monster so now on top of deciding what party favors to make in BULK, I now have a costume to make...YAY!!

Now this is the result of 2 months of at least 5 hours of work each day, and about a week total of days i took a break. Lets just say was not pleasant to be around and I give my hubby props for dealing with me through all of it.

I tried but failed in making it look like a monster, He wore this costume on Halloween as well and everyone was calling him a dragon or dinosaur. As long as he liked it and had fun i didn't care.

It turned out to be a lot warmer out then we anticipated since it had rained everyday for 2 weeks before the party so we honestly expected to be rained out or it be a bit chilly. Of course this didn't happen, it decided to be in the high 70s that day, so he wore this for only a short period of time.

Ready for the party favors????
It still gives me flash backs when I see the picture!!!
NEVER AGAIN!!

Each of these were individually designed and all of them "Had to be unique" and of course I hand sewed each face on. Silly me didn't think of sewing the face on til after the front and back of the monsters were sewn together, so I only had a tiny little hole to sew through. The most depressing part was that half of the people that put in their RSVP did NOT come at all so I had tons of these little guys left over... At this point I was upset that I made as many as i did. GRRR...NEVER AGAIN!! I don't mind making these. I just hated having so many to do, in such a short time.

So that is just a few things I have made.
More to come...
So what do you think??

Playing Around With Settings

Woot!!! Figured out how to let everyone comment ^_^ Finally. If i didn't tell you all before, I am a new to blogging! So please excuse my sloppy drawings and horrible spelling, as well as my Crystal-nese way of speaking...well, writing more like, but i speak that way too...just so you know...i don't know why i said that. Ook I hear a baby crying so g-night everyone.
